Students enrolled in Rockhurst's intermediate
macroeconomics class aren't just learning to
draw supply and demand curves, they're immersed
in issues of the workplace social contract
as they relate to economics. These juniors
and seniors are taking part in Project Social
Contract, an initiative developed by Gerald
Miller, Ph.D., professor of economics, to bring
attention to the issues and explore possible
solutions.
Each student has conducted extensive research
on one of several workplace social contract issues.
The project has particular significance within
Jesuit education, which calls for students to
become leaders in service to others.
“This is what a Jesuit institution should
be about. These are our students actively participating
in trying to change the world by bringing attention
to these issues,” said Miller.
