Musica
Sacra of Kansas City Chorus and Orchestra, Rockhurst
University’s ensemble-in-residence, presents “Something
Old, Something New, Something Mozart.” The
2005-06 season honors Musica
Sacra's 15th performance season and the 250th
anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s
birth.
The concert, which begin at 7 p.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, 52nd Street and Troost Avenue, include the following:
- Sunday, Apr. 23
The sweet sound of Mozart’s
Litany of Loreto, K. 109 provides a marvelous
contrast with the romantic fervor of
Mendelssohn’s
Christ, thou Lamb of God and one of the
most brilliant of Mozart’s Mass
settings, the Missa Longa, K. 262.
Tickets are $15 per concert, $10 for students
and seniors. Single tickets can be purchased online,
and season tickets are available by calling
the Central Ticket Office at 816-235-6222.
