German Ambassador Visits Rockhurst
Klaus Scharioth (left), German ambassador to the United States, visited the Rockhurst campus Sept. 17 to speak on transatlantic relations and answer questions from students, faculty and staff. The ambassador stressed the importance of cooperation between the United States and European Union so that our shared values can become the foundation for solutions to global challenges such as climate change, nuclear proliferation and failing states. Before his brief lecture, Scharioth spoke with a student and Rockhurst President the Rev. Thomas B. Curran, O.S.F.S. (center).

Rockhurst Students Perform “The Laramie Project”
Providing insight into the aftermath of a lethal hate crime motivated by homophobia, student actors at Rockhurst University will present “The Laramie Project,” by Moisés Kaufman and directed by local actor, director and teacher, Richard Alan Nichols. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, and Friday, Oct. 2; and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, in Rockhurst’s Mabee Theater. (more)
