Poet Beth Ann Fennelly, known for her wide-range of engaging topics, will present her work as part of the Midwest Poets Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in Mabee Theater.
Fennelly’s works celebrate baseball, motherhood, her Irish roots and erotic love. Her books of poems include Open House, Tender Hooks and Unmentionables. Originally from Illinois, Fennelly currently teaches at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, where she resides with her husband and two children.
Fennelly has been honored with two Puschart Prizes, The Kenyon Review Prize, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
