Rockhurst University will hold the 2010 ceremonies on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Municipal Auditorium, 301 W. 13th St., Kansas City, Mo. Students planning to complete their degree in December 2009 and May or August 2010 are invited and encouraged to attend. The Academic Procession will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 1:30 p.m. All participants (graduates, faculty & staff) should arrive at the Auditorium by 12:00 p.m. There is a parking fee. Standard Parking will take only cash or check. As always, please remember not to leave valuables in your car. Rockhurst is not responsible for items left unattended at Municipal Auditorium. Please give your personal items to a guest to hold during the ceremony. Please allow 2 - 3 hours for the ceremony, family pictures and socializing. You may invite as many guests as you wish, tickets are not required.
Handicap parking is available in Barney Allis Plaza garage on level 2 at the south end. These parking spaces are near the tunnel that leads to municipal auditorium and the convention center.
Accessible seating for graduation is located on the upper level to the right of the stage. Please use elevator in the west hallway to access this seating. These spaces will be clearly marked.
Please join us for the annual Hawk Walk, as graduates walk en masse from commencement to Kansas City’s famed Power & Light District for a special reception honoring 2010 graduates and families.
Baccalaureate Mass, a central component of Rockhurst commencement weekend, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1001 East 52nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64110 (across from the Rockhurst University Campus). Degree candidates should wear their graduation attire to Mass minus their hood. All who would like to participate in the procession from campus to St. Francis Church should meet at 2:00 p.m. in front of Conway Hall.
The handicap accessible entry to St. Francis Xavier Church is on the north side, just west of Troost. There is a driveway that allows easy access to that entrance.
Following Mass, there is a reception on campus in the courtyard by the Bell Tower. In case of inclement weather, the reception will move to Massman Hall.
