SuperNatural Christians Retreat — May 2005
Nickie's Diary
Day 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
 |
| Karen studies the science behind wind farming. |
We woke up early today and had breakfast with the Jesuits. We said goodbye and got back into the van. Today's drive would only be about 6 hours.
 |
| This is Cerro Gordo Wind Farm near Ventura, Iowa, and it's said to produce enough electricity to serve 20,000 homes and businesses. |
We stopped somewhere in Iowa again to see wind turbines. We had a last prayer here and discussed how each of us would personally respect the environment and incorporate nature into our faith.
The rest of the drive seemed short, and before I knew it, we were back in Kansas City. I am so thankful for this experience! It was an awesome time. Each of us made new friends and reflected on our own lives. After a hectic semester of school work, a retreat like this was needed to force me to relax and focus on everything else. I am sad that it is over but ready to return to the comforts of home. This retreat has taught me to live simply and take time to smell the roses. I am very thankful for everyone who was so hospitable to us on the trip and thankful that I had this opportunity!
