Women’s Soccer: Skala headlines five Hawks on All-GLVC TeamsNovember 2, 2012

Rockhurst sophomore forward Taylor Skala was one of five Rockhurst players to receive All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors.

Skala led the team in goals (11), goals per game (0.61), points (22) and points per game (1.22) this season. Skala scored her 11th goal of the season in the Hawks’ 3-2 victory at Wisconsin-Parkside in the quarterfinals of the 2012 GLVC Tournament on Sunday.

2012 All-GLVC honoreesThree Rockhurst players were named to the All-GLVC second team: midfielder Katie Kujawa, defender Kasey Lierz and goalkeeper Lucy Sullivan. Defender Paige Sielfleisch rounded out the Rockhurst honorees as a third team selection. Skala, Sullivan and Kujawa repeated as All-GLVC honorees. Skala was also the 2011 GLVC Freshman of the Year.

Fifth-seeded Rockhurst meets top-seeded Quincy at 5 p.m. Friday in the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament. No. 2 William Jewell meets No. 3 Bellarmine in the second semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. at Quincy.
