Volleyball: Hawks sweep Missouri-St. LouisNovember 10, 2012

Emily ReadyEmily Ready posted nine kills and five blocks to power Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory at Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. The Hawks won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-19, and closed out the match with a 25-14 win. Katie Loescher added eight kills. Whitney Kostal collected 31 assists and 11 digs. Lauren Poulicek had a team-high 19 digs.

The Hawks, 25-6 overall, finished second in the GLVC West with a 14-4 record. Rockhurst will face Bellarmine in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. EST in Indianapolis.

On Friday, Stratman and Loescher combined for 20 kills and seven blocks to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory at Maryville. The Hawks posted a .216 hitting percentage while winning by the scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-20. Ready collected seven kills and seven blocks. Kostal totaled 29 assists and Victoria Mahl had a team-high 12 digs.
