Rockhurst Reaches New Milestone in Faculty and Staff CampaignMarch 26, 2013

Rockhurst University prides itself on being a place that develops the leaders of tomorrow.  At Rockhurst, where leaders learn is a philosophy held true by the students and those who work to help create those leaders: the faculty and staff.

To show their support, University faculty and staff have continued to give of their time, talents and treasure to set a new record of giving.

So far, Rockhurst University faculty and staff have raised more than $99,000 this year for the Rockhurst Fund. The Rockhurst Fund supports everything from scholarships, academic and athletic programs to service trips.

For the past three years, the giving percentage of faculty and staff has steadily increased from 53 percent in 2011 to this year’s total of 66 percent.

Carla Simpson, director of annual giving, said such a strong percentage of participation shows current and prospective students that the community of Rockhurst believes in the University’s mission and strives to give them every opportunity to enjoy the college experience.

“I believe that the tremendous support that we receive from our faculty and staff comes from the desire to enhance the students’ experience here at Rockhurst,” Simpson said. “We are a community united together to build a brighter future for all of us and the compassion that we have for our students empowers us to accomplish great things together.”
