Challenging Curriculum
Faculty use a wide variety of teaching approaches
with emphasis on case studies, projects, simulations
and team-based activities. Courses blend theory
and application to ensure both a broad-based
understanding of contemporary business, and
the capacity to appreciate how technology,
globalization and social change are shaping
the future business environment. For details,

Leaders
of competence and conscience
The Helzberg School of Management prepares
leaders to make a positive difference in the
world. Ethical leadership and corporate social
responsibility are major themes in projects
and discussions.

The Rockhurst educational ethic
In keeping with the centuries-old Jesuit
tradition of educating the whole person, Rockhurst
encourages students to question, to probe and
to think for themselves. Students advance their
knowledge and broaden their perspective through
a balance between theory and application.
As a
Jesuit university, Rockhurst is part of a select
group of institutions of higher education.
For more than 450 years, the Jesuits have been
leaders in education. Rockhurst has constantly
challenged conventional thinking and has sought
to bring students to an awareness that they
not only have a responsibility for developing
themselves but society as a whole.
Specifically
related to business, a strong case can be made
that the corporate sector has a crucial role
to play in contemporary society. One goal of
Jesuit education is to develop leaders who
have a positive impact on their organizations
and on society.
A history of success
Rockhurst introduced
Kansas City's first business degree for working
adults in 1933, its first evening MBA in 1975
and its first executive MBA in 1978 — one
of the first 20 in the nation. Today, through
the Helzberg School of Management, Rockhurst
offers Kansas City's oldest and most prestigious
executive MBA. Graduates of the Helzberg Executive
Fellows earn an MBA from the only private, AACSB-accredited
institution in the area. |
