Buchanan’s research focus is cash flow and economic value generation through demand and operational management improvement. He teaches supply chain and logistics management.

Lecturer of Management, is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Yarco Companies. He offers ethics workshops within the Helzberg School of Management and to the Kansas City Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and serves on the board of the Phoenix Family Housing Corp. His research interests include sustainability, issues of poverty and hunger, ethical leadership in corporate America and ethical practices in growing small business. Among the courses he teaches are corporate social responsibility, corporate citizenship and ethics for leaders. DeRigne received his Executive Fellows MBA from Rockhurst University.

As a leadership development consultant, Mr. Ferguson has created, marketed, facilitated and taught state-of-the-art leadership and management development programs. The products he has created have been used as models for worldwide adoption in multi-national companies. Ferguson also trains managers and facilitates change efforts during mergers, acquisitions and major organizational changes. His experience includes facilitating the strategic planning for various functions within organizations, planning and facilitating the team building efforts for senior management, spearheading organizational culture change, and training managers on coping with ambiguity and managing change. Ferguson teaches courses in organizational behavior, process integration, leadership development, managing human capital and mensch management.

His research interests include: Economics of Organizations & Strategy; Applied Statistics and Organizational Research Methods; and Health Services Research.

He has had several publications in the area of sales management and marketing strategy. He has consulted with several businesses in the Kansas City area and has conducted several workshops on sales and negotiations in the Kansas City community. He also has served as a Division Chair, and currently is the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the Helzberg School of Management.

Professor of Finance, received his doctorate
from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Lyon is an active consultant
who has worked with many Kansas City firms including Hallmark Cards, Aventis,
Sprint, Black & Veatch, DST Inc., KCP&L, Fringe Benefits Design,
Haake Companies, and Teva. Additionally, he has served on numerous boards
and has facilitated small business groups within the Kansas City area. He
has worked with and taught at the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
He has published numerous articles and case studies. He was co-founder and
director of the MBA and Executive Fellows programs and has served as Chair,
Division Chair and interim Dean in the School of Management.

Professor of Economics, trained at Harvard University and the University of Wisconsin. He was a Brookings scholar, and received several awards for his teaching including the AMOCO award in 1981. Dr. Tansey received an Honorary Degree of Humane Letters from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His professional publications range through industrial organization, economics of art and leadership, public choice and public policy, entrepreneurship and economic education. He has been the author of many publications for the teaching of undergraduate economics. His government experience includes a three-year stint in the U.S. Executive Office of the President (Office of Emergency Preparedness and Cost of Living Council in the President’s price control program.) His past business experience includes service on the board at Hillcrest Bank and consulting projects with corporations including: Sprint, Valentine Radford, Kimberly Quality Care, the Kansas City Star, Union Station, Science City, and KCPL.

He has consulted with more than 300 businesses and individuals in the accounting and finance areas. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Tocco has owned and operated his own businesses. He also serves on two boards of directors for Kansas City companies and as chairman of the board for a not-for-profit organization. He is a past George and Gladys Miller Chair in Business Administration at Rockhurst University and has authored numerous articles in accounting and broader business areas.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Management, conducts management consulting through White and Company, LLC. He received his MBA from Rockhurst University and conducted post-graduate work at the University of Chicago and the Center for Creative Leadership. White teaches courses in corporate social responsibility, communication for leaders and strategy implementation, governance and ethics. He serves on the boards of CPI Corp. and Equus: Center for Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and sits on the Rockhurst University Board of Regents.
