Rockhurst's Helzberg School of Management offers two MBA options that focus on health care leadership:
An evening MBA with a concentration in health care leadership for students who work in hospitals, managed care companies, pharmaceutical companies and other health care industries.
DO/MBA Dual-degree in Health Care Leadership
The MBA in health care leadership is the featured component of the DO/MBA dual-degree offered jointly between Rockhurst and fellow Missouri college the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (formerly University of Health Sciences). The MBA in health care leadership complements students' D.O. medical education by developing physician-managers of competence and conscience with the business and leadership skills necessary to provide quality, holistic health care.
Complete Both of Your Medical Degrees at the Same Time
Rockhurst blends these two programs together so you can earn your MBA in health care leadership without having to go back to school. Within the DO/MBA dual-degree, the Rockhurst MBA in health care leadership is concentrated in the two summer semesters between your first and third years and the fall semester of your third year. The curriculum features a blend of in-class and online course work and makes extensive use of health care examples, exercises, case studies and site visits to keep your learning hands-on. But Why an MBA?
Physicians know that business management skills enhance their ability to provide quality, holistic health care. You and the medical industry currently face decreasing physician prerogatives, increasing costs, declining profit margins and shrinking resources. Sound business practices and effective business management skills are essential in your fight to provide the highest quality patient care while maintaining a financially viable practice, physicians' group or health care organization. Rockhurst University's Master in Business Administration in health care leadership gives you the tools to tackle the business side of your career.
