Kevin Becvar, ’09
"A Rockhurst scholarship allows me to live my Rockhurst experience to the fullest," says Kevin Becvar.
This St. Louis native makes the most of his college experience by leading both in the classroom and through student organizations. Becvar is heavily involved in numerous campus ministry activities and works as a Resident Assistant in Xavier-Loyola Hall. He also participates in intramurals and theatre productions.
"I can’t speak enough about how much I love my education at Rockhurst," Becvar says. "I am getting the tools I need to go out and make a true difference in this world."
Becvar primarily chose to attend Rockhurst University for its Jesuit mission, but also credits the small size and great scholarship opportunities for leading him to Rockhurst.
"The emphasis of learning, leadership and service can be seen inside and outside the classroom," he says.
Becvar's favorite campus memory is the great sense of community felt at the Mass of the Holy Spirit. The University celebrates this Mass each fall to ask for a blessing on the new academic year.
Through his actions, Becvar demonstrates gratitude to those who make his scholarship possible.
"When people give to Rockhurst, they give students a better chance to live and follow the Jesuit mission," he says. "Receiving a Rockhurst scholarship makes my experience here much more satisfying for both my family and myself."
