Richard Wagner's teaching focuses are the principles of macroeconomics, microeconomics and the economics of business strategy.

Wagner earned a bachelor degree in economics and business administration at California State University, Chico. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Academic interests include urban and regional economics, ecological economics, and business and institutional economics.
