Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning
History of CETL
In the spring of 1999, a Faculty Development Task Force report recommended a Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). The CETL was funded and established in the fall of 1999.
The mission of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is to help build successful learning environments through faculty support, development, growth and renewal. The overall goal is to advance teaching and learning at Rockhurst University.
About the CETL
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) seminar room is located in 202 Van Ackeren Hall. The CETL staff plans a wide range of activities and services within the areas of teaching and learning, instructional technology, assessment, and diversity. The CETL staff conducts seminars and workshops and assists faculty who wish to present or publish work on the scholarship of teaching and learning. CETL staff will also visit classrooms upon request, and provide individual consultation to faculty on syllabus development, classroom management, teaching, and assessment. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the CETL planning process, and to suggest additional projects on teaching and learning, instructional technology, assessment, diversity or other topics of interest.
