Visiting Scholar Lecture Series: Mark Emmert, Ph.D., President of the National Collegiate Athletic AssociationConvocation Center
Tuesday, September 23, 2014 @ 7:30 p.m.
Mark Emmert, Ph.D., president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), will present “The Collegiate Model for the 21st Century,” a behind-the-scenes look at what is driving the association’s decision-making progress in these changing times.
Emmert’s lecture will assert that at a time of big ideas and defining moments for the association, each NCAA division is facing important decisions about its future. As with many membership organizations, groups within the organization hold diverse opinions and conduct their business differently. However, Emmert maintains that in the end all groups are grounded in the same values. Emmert will address these core values and the association’s focus on student athletes’ well-being and their success on the field, in the classroom and in life.
The lecture is free; register your attendance by calling 816-501-4828. Parking is free. Directions and a campus map may be found at www.rockhurst.edu/campus-map.
