Internationally renowned physicist the Rev. Gabriele Gionti, S.J., will explore the implications of the discussed "Higgs boson," popularly labeled "the God particle." Named after the British theorist Peter Higgs, the newly confirmed existence of the Higgs boson holds the promise of revealing new physics phenomena. Fr. Gionti is on the staff of the Vatican Observatory and is the chief liaison between the Observatory and the theoretical diversion of CERN, the world's largest particle physics laboratory.
