Community Relations
• Since 1999, Rockhurst University has invested more than $23 million in improving the physical appearance of the campus, restoring historic Conway Hall and adding the Rockhurst University Community Center. Several awards have recognized this work.
• More than 85 percent of full-time undergraduates participated in community service or service learning during the past academic year, providing approximately 25,000 hours of community service.
• The university is spending more than $67,000 during summer 2007 to improve neighborhood homes for student housing.
• More than $227,000 has been spent on rental houses in the past year. The majority of these houses are used for student housing. • The university continues to maintain a security department with trained officers. The officers and security equipment, such as cameras, have aided the neighbors and Kansas City, Mo., police in a variety of situations. |
