1. Rockhurst Road (52nd Street) (440KB PDF) between The Paseo Boulevard and Troost Avenue; 49 new diagonal parking spaces will be developed on the south side of Rockhurst Road, contingent on city approval. Parallel parking will remain on the north side.
2. Forest Avenue at Rockhurst Road (142KB PDF). Rockhurst sought Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) approval for a 26-space parking lot, but was denied. The university is investigating the feasibility of revising plans (316KB PDF) based in part on city and neighborhood recommendations.
The yellow house to the immediate north serves as the Rockhurst Campus Ministry House, an important meeting space for student faith-sharing groups. The Jesuit Residence sits directly across Forest from the proposed lot. There are no plans to increase the size of the lot.
3. Troost Avenue (186KB PDF) south of the campus, between 54th and 55th Streets. A 55-space parking lot will be constructed on the site of the former Jimmy’s restaurant. The addition of a cedar fence and landscaping will improve the lot’s appearance.
