Rockhurst University is called through its mission to be involved in the life and growth of the city and the region. From our prime campus location in the central city, bordered on the west by Troost Avenue and the east by The Paseo, we are uniquely positioned to fulfill this charge.
The university’s strategic plan 2007-12 includes an updated campus master plan to ensure we have the facilities to meet the needs of our learning community. As residents of the neighborhood, we also seek to create a campus that enhances the sense of community fostered by our strong surrounding neighborhoods.
Following a thorough process that engaged faculty, staff, students, alumni, the community and neighborhood leadership, a plan for phased campus improvements was developed. Work to refine the details of the plan continues, and the construction start dates are contingent on funding and gathering all appropriate permits.

This illustration shows what the central part of campus might look like when construction is complete. This overall concept has been approved and the architectural planning team continues to make refinements. This view looks toward the northeast from the corner of 54th Street and Forest Avenue. McGee Hall is visible to the left. The center building with the green roof will be a new academic building and the new building to the right, with the glass front, will be a new residence hall. |
