Fifty year anniversaries have long occupied a special
place in society. Generally referred to as "Golden
Anniversaries," they are celebrated by institutions,
businesses and individuals. They commemorate loyalty,
perseverance, and often a special, lasting bond
between people.
When college and university alumni reunite to
celebrate 50 years as graduates, it is indeed a
rare and special occasion. We honor
our 50-year graduates, those celebrating their
Golden Anniversary as Rockhurst alumni, by induction
into the Golden Hawks Society. Each 50-year class
is inducted into the society at a special ceremony
for graduates and the widows of deceased graduates,
and as part of their 50-year reunion celebration.
This year's
Golden Hawks class is the Class of 1960. Reunion will take place over Centennial Celebration Weekend, September 23-26, 2010.
Class members interested in helping to plan the
reunion should contact Deanna Johnson. All class members
are encouraged to send updated contact information to Deanna, including a current e-mail address.
