50-year anniversaries have long occupied a special
place in society. Generally referred to as "Golden
Anniversaries," they are celebrated by institutions,
businesses and individuals. They commemorate loyalty,
perseverance, and often a special, lasting bond
between people.
When college and university alumni reunite to
celebrate 50 years as graduates, it is indeed a
rare and special occasion. At Rockhurst, we honor
our 50-year graduates, those celebrating their
Golden Anniversary as Rockhurst graduates, by induction
into the Golden Hawks Society. Each 50-year class
is inducted into the society at a special ceremony
for graduates and the widows of deceased graduates,
and as part of their 50-year reunion celebration.
This year's
Golden Hawks class is the Class of 1958.
Class members interested in helping to plan the
reunion should contact Mary Landers. All class members
are encouraged to send updated information to Mary, including your current e-mail address.
