APPLICANT GUIDELINES

Please read through the following international application guidelines before proceeding to the online international application link, located at the bottom of this page.

At Rockhurst, we believe international students enrich the learning experience for all students because of the cultural exchange that occurs. This is why Rockhurst encourages all qualified international students to apply for admission. The Jesuit education offered at Rockhurst brings a 450 year tradition of academic excellence to all of our programs.

ADMISSION TO ROCKHURST
We are here to assist you in the admission process. To be considered for admission to Rockhurst University, please submit the following documents by May 1 if seeking fall admission and October 1 for spring admission(fall admission is preferred, so you are properly introduced to the University). All our international forms are available on our Web site at www.rockhurst.edu.

  • Results from the Test of English as a foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum paper-based score of 550, a computer-based score of 213 or an internet-based score of 79 is required for Rockhurst University admission.
  • Results from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Testing Program (ACT). A minimum score of 950 for the SAT or a minimum ACT composite and English category score of 20 is required for admission to Rockhurst University.
  • A declaration and certification of your ability to pay for your educational expenses at Rockhurst for two full time semesters.
  • Complete official high school and college academic credentials and an English translation and course by course evaluation of these.
  • Students who transfer from another U.S. college/university must have a completed “Supplemental Form” signed by the designated school official at the previous college/university.

While we are eager to have international men and women among our student body, there are a number of factors which limit those who are able to attend. We prefer to inform you of these conditions rather than disappoint you in the future.

You must be responsible for payment for your entire education. United States laws prevent international students from having jobs in the United States at any time during their four years as students. Similarly, international students are not eligible for state or federal financial aid. While we regret this situation, we are unable to alter these conditions. Partial scholarships are available for students with superior academic credentials and test scores.

You must declare your ability to pay. A declaration and certification of your ability to pay all educational expenses at Rockhurst must be fully completed. The amount you certify as being available to finance your studies must equal tuition plus living expenses for the nine month academic year and summer living expenses. Certification of funding must be in English with sources of support shown in U.S. dollars. All letters of support must be for Rockhurst University and not any other college or university. Any false information is grounds for rejection of your application and dismissal from the university. Upon approval of your enrollment, the visa eligibility document is issued. You take the visa to the U.S. Consul along with copies of the financial certification. The Consul issues the visa for you to enter the United States.
