Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Rockhurst MBA must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university and completed the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). International applicants have additional requirements.

Students must meet the prerequisite course requirements with a C or better. An undergraduate degree in business usually satisfies most of the prerequisites. Rockhurst University offers prerequisite courses in tandem with MBA core courses.

Students entering the MBA Program are expected to demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills as well as basic word processing, presentation (e.g. PowerPoint) and spreadsheet knowledge. Proficiency requirements can be met through a combination of prior undergraduate work and evidence of achievement based on work experience.

Prerequisite Courses:

  • Principles of Accounting
  • Applied Quantitative Methods
  • Principles of Economics
  • Essentials of Finance
  • Management Information Systems
  • Principles of Marketing

Admission Categories
Applicants may be admitted in various categories:

Fully Admitted: Students in this category have submitted all documentation necessary for admission and met the required academic criteria.

Non-Degree Seeking: Students in this category generally are taking courses for personal or professional development. They must meet the same academic requirements as a conditionally accepted student. If the student wants to become a degree-seeking candidate, he/she must meet the requirements of fully admitted students.
