Graduate Education Application Process
Thank you for considering Rockhurst University's Master of Education program. We're here to help make the application process smooth for you.
There are two free ways to apply:
- Apply online.
- Download and print an M.Ed. application packet (PDF) . Please submit all forms, including supplemental forms A and B.
Before you apply, we ask that you review and complete the following requirements:
- Complete a baccalaureate degree at an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. You also need to submit two official transcripts showing all college-level coursework.
- Submit your graduate program application, including two letters of professional recommendations addressing your potential to serve as a teacher, along with a written essay describing your academic background, professional goals, and reasons for pursuing your M.Ed.
- If you are an international student applying from a non-English speaking country, please also submit TOEFL score of at least 79.
Upon graduation, M.Ed. students need to have a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0, as well as a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all education courses, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all content courses.

Please note, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Rule 5 CSR 80-800.400 procedure for potential candidates for Missouri certificate of license to teach with a criminal history to petition the State Board of Education for background clearance states: Potential candidates for a Missouri certificate of license to teach who are currently enrolled in professional education courses in conjunction with state-approved teacher preparation programs may petition the State Board of Education (board) for provisional clearance of their background, enabling possible issuance of a Missouri certificate of license to teach upon completion of their teacher preparation program and pursuant to the rules promulgated by the board. *Requires Acrobat Reader
