Undergraduate Admission to the Education Program

Any student pursuing a major in education must apply and be accepted to Rockhurst University AND to the Department of Education. To apply, you must:

• submit a completed Department of Education application (18KB PDF).
• submit the written essay .
• successfully pass all sections of the College Basic Academic Subjects Examination (College BASE), a Missouri mandated and administered examination of basic knowledge.  Before you may register for upper level (3000 and 4000) Education courses, you first must pass all sections of the College BASE. • Missouri has thorough requirements for individuals pursuing teaching careers. In accordance with these requirements, Rockhurst Education students must achieve a letter grade of C or higher in all education courses.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the Department of Education before enrolling in any education course.
