Undergraduate Degrees

Rockhurst University offers both a bachelors of science and minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). These undergradaute programs emphasize an ethical and culturally sensitive approach to clinical practice. An undergraduate degree in CSD prepares a student for gradaute work in speech-language pathology, special education, deaf education, and numerous other fields in rehabilitation. Undergraduate coursework provides a broad scientific base for the understanding of normal development of the basic human communication process and an introduction to the study of disorders of communication.

Postbaccalaureate Prep-Track
Do you have a bachelor's degree in a field other than Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD)? Are you thinking about changing careers? The Rockhurst CSD program has a post-baccalaureate Prep Track program especially for you that will allow you to obtain a master's degree in three years!

Once accepted into the program, the Prep Track provides the opportunity for those individuals — recent graduates as well as non-traditional students — who hold undergraduate degrees in disciplines other than CSD to complete all required undergraduate coursework related to CSD during two semesters of full time coursework.  You are then guaranteed a place in the next year's graduate class to allow you to complete your master's degree.

Master's of Science
The Master's of Science program was created to provide a solid foundation of required courses to prepare students to provide assessment and treatment of pediatric and adult clients.  Students choose electives in areas of interest such as autism, hearing loss, adult disorders or multicultural populations.  All clinical hours are obtained in the community in sites such as hospitals, schools or clinics so students receive real world experience.

Students may complete the master's program full- or part-time. A program of study is started in the fall semester.
