University Planning and Budgeting Committee [UPBC]

In June 2006, Rockhurst president [the Rev.] Tom Curran, O.S.F.S., formed and charged a Rockhurst University Committee for the Budget to achieve four specific objectives [restated below]. In mid-August, the president expanded committee responsibilities to include overseeing both university strategic planning and strategic resource allocation processes.

The University Planning and Budgeting Committee [UPBC] is now a standing committee reporting directly to the president. It will serve three important functions beginning in AY 06-07: 

• Manage the university budget process;
• Orchestrate a broadly participative university planning process to develop Strategic Plan 2007-2012; and
• Successfully implement Strategic Plan 2007-2012 using annual Planning, Budgeting and Accountability [PBA] Cycles that rationally and efficiently allocate available resources to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
