Ignatian Heritage Week Contests
Where RU Iggy?
This Ignatian Heritage Week, we want all of the Rockhurst community to get to know Iggy. But before you do that, you have to find him!
Each day, Rockhurst's patron saint will be hidden in different locations throughout campus. At 9 a.m., a clue will be sent out via Rockhurst's Facebook and Twitter accounts letting you know where Iggy will be. You'll have until 4 p.m. to find him.
Tell us you’ve found Iggy by stopping for a picture with him and posting it to Rockhurst’s Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #whereruiggy. The Office of Mission and Ministry will award prizes the week following Ignatian Heritage Week.
Dress Iggy Contest
Attention all student organizations: Think you have what it takes to give us the best dressed Iggy? Show us what you’ve got!
The Mission and Ministry committee is sponsoring the Dress Iggy Contest as part of Ignatian Heritage Week. Student organizations and residence halls are invited to participate in the competition. The winning organization will receive a $100 prize!
All interested groups must sign up for a 30-minute time slot with the Mission and Ministry Office between Monday, Sept. 9, and Thursday, Sept. 12. You will have 30 minutes to dress the statue of St. Ignatius and take a photograph of your entry (then remove his costume before the next contestants arrive). Please send the photo to Ellen Spake in the mission and ministry office or Estuardo Garcia in the public relations and marketing department. Don't forget to include the name of your organization and name of a contact person. All entries must be submitted by noon on Thursday, Sept. 12. The winner will be announced by noon on Friday.
All entries should be done tastefully and respectfully. Entries may include a Renaissance theme (the time of Ignatius), but it is not mandatory.
Accept the Challenge: Six Word Story Contest
Think of our Ignatian heritage. Now, do you think you can you write the Ignatian story in six words?
A six-word story should provide a movement of experience, discernment and action that gives the sense of a complete story transpiring in a moment’s reading. If you think you have the perfect story, Tweet it using #rusixwords or send it to Mary Cary by noon on Thursday, Sept. 12. Winners will be announced at noon on Friday, Sept. 13.
