Campus Master Plan
Through a thoughtful process of conversations, considerations and consensus, Rockhurst University developed a campus master plan based on the strategic direction of the University and discernment of community input. There were many conversations with faculty, staff, administration, alumni, students and neighbors. The Rockhurst University Campus Master Plan has been adopted by the City of Kansas City, Mo., as a planned development zone.
The current phase of the campus master plan allows the University to break ground on a new academic building on property within the existing boundaries of active campus life.
Updates on the progress of this project will be available here and sent via community newsletter. Neighborhood leaders will also be updated via the Rockhurst Neighborhood Committee.
The Rockhurst University Neighborhood Committee (RUNC) was born from the development of the campus master plan. RUNC membership includes representation from 49/63 Neighborhood Association, Troostwood Neighborhood Association, Troost Plateau Neighborhood Association, Southtown Council, Brush Creek Community Partners, UMKC Community Affairs, Rockhurst VP for Facilities and Technology, RU Security, RU Public Relations and Marketing, RU Community Relations, RU Associate Dean of Students, and RU Chief Financial Officer. The RUNC discusses topics pertaining to the master plan, campus sustainability, community safety, public engagement, healthy neighborhood and youth development and student-neighbor relations.
