Why Choose Rockhurst?
The Helzberg School of Management is dedicated to developing leaders of competence and conscience. Your professors are recognized as leaders in their fields, involved in local and regional business activities. While they are accomplished educators, their emphasis is on teaching rather than research and publication. That means you’ll gain real-world insight as they relate their own business experience in classroom discussions and integrate useful case studies into the curriculum. You’ll also have opportunities to:
Tailor your MBA program to your specific career goals by choosing among five concentrations.
Network with fellow students from top firms throughout Kansas City, experienced professors and local business leaders who frequently are invited as guest speakers.
Collaborate with students, faculty and local businesses on live consulting projects.
Have complete access to the Wall Street Journal and a campuswide wireless network – the tools you need to get the most out of your in-depth team projects, business simulations and class discussions.
Take dynamic courses that blend theory and application to ensure both a broad-based understanding of contemporary business and the appreciation of how technology, globalization and social change are shaping the future business environment.
Travel with an international business class to study another country’s business culture, industry and government.
This combination of faculty expertise, reality-based learning and access to business resources will help you learn to think strategically, understand the various dimensions of a business problem and become a leader in your organization. Not only will you be encouraged to think for yourself, you’ll gain an understanding of how your success in business can improve the world around you. Our graduates leave with a commitment to lead and serve others with a greater social conscience.
Designed for the working professional With evening and weekend classes available, the Rockhurst MBA is designed for the working professional. Generally, three-credit-hour classes meet one night per week from 6 to 8:40 p.m. during the spring and fall semesters and from 5:45 to 9:45 p.m. one night per week during summer's eight-week session. Combination classes, which allow you to complete two courses per semester by attending one night per week, are popular. You also can pick up some one-credit-hour management classes on specified weekends. If you have an undergraduate degree in business, you can complete the program in as little as two years by enrolling in six credit hours per term, including summers.
